Our Development Partners are businesses from various industries that would like KDG to act as their Web Development Partner. They rely on KDG to work with them to complete web-based projects for their clients such as websites, web-based business systems and online marketing solutions. Here is a list of some of the businesses that would benefit from a Development Partnership with KDG:
- Graphic Design Studios: You may be an expert at designing printed marketing material but don’t have the skills or resources to effectively construct websites and database driven web-based systems. That’s where we come in. We can give you the appropriate guidelines for designing the websites interface and you can then get KDG to build and host the website.
- Marketing Companies & Advertising Agencies: Your clients marketing or advertising campaign may involve the creation of a website and implementation of an online marketing strategy to support the campaign. KDG could be commissioned to work together with your Creative Directors to design and develop a website based on the supplied requirements and parameters. We could then arrange the hosting of the website and implement a measurable, results-driven online marketing strategy involving anything from Email Newsletters and Banner Advertising Systems through to Online Surveys and SMS Promotional Campaigns.
- Web Developers: Even though your core business is developing websites you may find that certain projects fall outside your company’s capabilities or skill set. KDG can assist you in any type of web-based project; whether it is a database-driven product catalogue, fully integrated intranet/extranet or even a multimedia portal. We have an extensive network of designers, programmers, developers, consultants and online marketers that can solve any online problem you may be having. We also have years of experience under our belt to ensure that the optimum solution is delivered every time.
- Copywriters: You've written all the content for your client's brochures, press releases, annual reports and other marketing material. Now it's time you published all that hard work online by having KDG design and create a website. You can even add value to your service by entering all your client's copy yourself using Kinetic Site Manager content management software.
- Photographers & Photography Studios: As part of a photo-shoot, you may wish to offer your clients an online resource for viewing or promoting the job. Having KDG develop a website for your client will help to cement your business relationship. Giving you the tools to update and maintain their website will ensure that they don’t go anywhere else for their photography work.
- Video Production Houses: Next time you produce a corporate training video why not complement it with a web-based interface. You may even wish to produce a CD or DVD which references your client’s website. KDG can work with your company to develop a self-manageable website solution of the highest quality.
Types of Development Partnerships
The underlying premise of KDG’s Partner Program is that our relationship is with you as a Development Partner, and not with your clients. You have the relationship with your clients, regardless of the fact that we provide the web development, online marketing and support services. When becoming a Development Partner you have the option of choosing the type of business relationship you would like to have with KDG:
- Work together with us on your client projects: With this type of relationship you work together with KDG to co-develop your client’s website and online marketing strategy. Usually these types of arrangements will involve input from both KDG and the Development Partner to successful complete the project. You may want to involve us in the client meetings or you may wish to liaise and manage the entire project without the client being aware that another web development company is involved. What ever your preference, KDG are flexible enough to work within the parameters set by your organisation.
- Completely out-source the work to KDG: With some projects the situation may arise where you are too busy with your core business or the requirements of the project are way out of your league. In this instance you may decide that it will be best to have KDG entirely manage the project from start to finish. Typically we would request that you introduce KDG to your client so that we can liaise directly with them however if required we could work completely anonymously. In this case your company would conduct all the client meetings and relay the outcomes to KDG – the client would have no idea that a third-party web developer was sub-contracted to develop their web project.
All new Development Partners, regardless of which Development Partnership arrangement they chose, will get to work closely with our team to make sure they are familiar with our products, services and procedures. This will ensure that the solution is delivered on time and on budget, with no nasty surprises.
Billing Options
Based on the Type of Development Partnership requested and your client relationship, KDG can provide one of two billing options:
- Invoice Development Partner: If this option is selected, KDG will discreetly bill your company according to our standard terms. Your Development Partner discount will apply as per your Partner Level. We don’t ask what fees you charge your clients. Our discounted hourly fees are fixed so you can charge your clients whatever you feel is appropriate.
- Invoice client direct: You may wish to have KDG invoice your client directly. For us to do this we would need the clients contact details and obviously the client would need to be aware that KDG was involved in the development of their web project. The client would receive an invoice based on our standard rates. Once the invoice is settled KDG would forward you a cheque for the amount we would have discounted if you had been invoiced (based on your Partner Level).

How are Development Partners rewarded?
As with the Referral Partner Program, Development Partners have 3 Partner Levels (Silver, Gold and Platinum) which are awarded based on the initial project cost (excluding GST). The Partner Level determines the Development Partner Discount as detailed below:

KDG recognises that you are providing a value-added service to your clients which is why we encourage Development Partners to create their own unique pricing levels instead of following our recommended retail pricing.
How do I know you’ll do a good job for my clients?

We are professionals and are experts at what we do, promising to deliver web-based solutions that you and your clients will be proud of. Our company has been established since 1999 and our success has been based on long-term relationships. We don’t chase the ‘quick buck’ and are only satisfied when you and your clients are satisfied – no less.
How do I become a Development Partner and what does it cost?
There are no joining fees or annual fees for becoming a Development Partner however we are selective as to which companies get accepted into our Development Partner Program. The process involves you first completing our Partner Application Form and submitting it for review. Once we receive this we will contact you to arrange a meeting to discuss the Partner Program in more detail.
If you’re happy with the arrangements we would sign you up as an Official Development Partner and issue you with a unique Partner ID. Next time you are required to submit a proposal for a web project, give us a call and we’ll work with you to ensure you get the contract and successfully complete the project.
