Moti Mahal reviewed by THE AGE

The scent of incense will linger longer in your clothes than the smell of spices after a visit to Moti Mahal- incense sticks burn furiously at the front counter and their smell wafts around this excellent Indian restaurant.

The crispy potato bondas, filled with a spicy potato and onion mixture, make for a satisfying starter, as do tender tandoori lamb chops steeped in a garlicky marinade. Chicken makhani comes in a wickedly rich, tomatoey gravy and makes an interesting contrast to the more mildly flavoured Goan pork curry.

Careful service and lined napery add the final touches to a classy package.
